Bound in 19th century 3/4 calf over marbled boards; sprinkled edges. Printed on laid paper, the text is very clean and bright; page 550 is misnumbered 534; page 608 is misnumbered 680; H3, H4, Lll3, Lll4 and Lll5 with very light marginal dampstain. Piece missing from spine and front board separated, text block is sharp and square. volume 3 is entirely about the Americas and is one of the earliest English books on the subject of travel and exploration.
